PITFT 3.2: Buttons / Case

Post by dr1818 »

I'm using a PiTFT 3.2 (2616), with a Pi 3 B Rev 1.2.

What model of buttons do I get for the side of the screen?
Which cases will work with this combination?

Thanks!

Does this mean such a thing isn't available?

I'm especially looking to button to control the screen...

I'm using a pygame based Internet radio and need to send commands to the Raspberry Pi to turn on and off the screen manually (as not to glare in my face and waste the LEDs). This defeats the purpose of having a touchscreen.

Sans that, would anyone know if there is there a Pygame screen turn-off /on timer accessable?
I tried console timeout and that doesn't do it.

Thanks

The pi-hole has a display closer in software if you're interested. You could adapt it. https://learn.adafruit.com/pi-hole-ad-p ... on-display

Thanks.
I gather you mean
echo "0" > /sys/class/backlight/soc\:backlight/brightness
Or is there something else?

I'm actually using that via a script from my cell phone...
But, now that you mentioned it, I could map them to a button or buttons. The buttons are active even with the screen off.

If and when I have time, I could probably tie the "off" to a timer since last key press..

Thanks

Thank you. For now I reprogram an existing button to point to a system call to that line and it worked.
