12v power for Pi?
Hi - I have a dc-dc converter to take 12v down to 5v off a small ATV battery for a raspberry Pi project. I already fried one rasp board connecting directly to the header. I see some pi power Hats but they seem to use usb-c power connector. Do u have something that I can feed a 12v or 5v DC line to that would give some over voltage protection or anything else to help my pi not get fried?

When you say "I already fried one rasp board connecting directly to the header." do you mean connecting 12v directly to the header?
The Pi requires 5v power, typically via a micro-USB or USB-C connector. You can not connect 12v directly to it.
You also don't mention which model of Pi. They have different current requirements, but this https://www.adafruit.com/product/1385 will provide 3A which will power a Pi4 (the official Pi4 power supply is 3A). That will convert 12v into 5v, supplying 3A.

I have a 4b and you can certainly power it from the header using 5v. I’ve seen “power hats” for the pi that add some over voltage protection and a fuse. But they are sold out and I’m wondering if adafruit has something. Or if you guys have other options for powering a Pi using a 5v battery supply.

Yes, you can power it from the header, many hats that require more power (e.g. motor hats) do just that. There are also assorted utility "shims" that do so as well.
There's this https://www.adafruit.com/product/4114. It might be overkill but it's certainly cabale. Only 2A though, but it should be ok for a barebones Pi4.

If your question is Can I power a Raspberry Pi from a 12V battery?
The Pi is powered directly by the 12 volt batteries through a 5V UBEC regulator.
