I have been using this item which I purchased on December 2nd for the last two weeks. I had been experiencing intermittent problems which I attributed to software not loading the I2S overlay, and posted on the forum seeking help. No one knew why I was having problems. In any case It was finally working, so I suspected some hardware or software problem on my part, then last night while using the project , audio stopped while I was listening to it. At least I thought it had stopped. There was still audio but i had to put my ear very close to the speaker to hear anything. I bought this on 12/2/2021 on order number 2728181-2312618253. I was unable to use it immediately because of the holidays. It is connected correctly otherwise I would not have been able to use it at all.
I can still hear audio now if I put the speaker very close to my ear. I believe that the item is defective in some way and wished I had determined that earlier. You help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello, have you checked your power supply? Is it giving sufficient voltage and current output?

Thanks. Is that the speaker under the hot glue? Do you have a link to any product info on what speaker is being used?

OK, that combination of speaker/amp should work. It was working, then not working. Can you correlate that to anything?

Re: MAX98357A mono amp
Only that I had intermittent problems over the past two weeks which I attributed to the overlay for I2S mmap not consistently loading.
However, at some point it all started working correctly. I was very pleased with the result. Then while I was listening to a broadcast, it suddenly stopped. I have not been able to get a peep out of it since. There is audio, but only if I literally place my ears to the speaker.
