Defective Pi4?
Just purchased another Pi4 from Adafruit. I was asked to post my problem here? I created an Octopi image for the Pi. Applied power and it never connected to the wifi. So I tried a wired connection and still no connection. I don't have a cable to hookup to a monitor so I can see what it's doing. To verify that my flash was good, I tried the SD card in another Pi that I have. It booted and connected immediately. Try the SD from my other working PI in the new one. Nothing? I'm getting a flashing status light. The SD card with image is good since it works on another PI. So the only thing I can see is a bad PI board?

What is the flashing color and pattern on the Pi4?
Is the other Pi you are testing the SD card with also a Pi4 with the same power supply?

Using the same power supply on both Pi's. I get 4 slow and 4 fast flashes on the green light. Per the documents it's an unsupported board type?

This also sounds like start.elf cannot load.
Can you use on of the current Pi OS release on an the same SD card to confirm the same failure?

Use the Pi imager utility to upload the OS image.

Re: Defective Pi4?
The new image did work. So now I need to figure out if OctoPi is compatible with the Pi4. Build notes do not offer a difference in versions. Thanks for the assistance! Guess I will use the PI4 for my home automation and just use my Pi3 for Octopi?

Re: Defective Pi4?
@plane_pilot,
Thank you for trying the Pi OS image. I figured that would put the necessary files in place for a Pi 4 to boot.
I think you can still use OctoPi on your Pi4, but you will need to take the dirt path (as opposed to paved road).
Here are your options:
* Fresh install of OctoPi on your Pi3 and install all the updates on the Pi3 (apt update, apt full-upgrade, etc.) then try to boot that SD card on your Pi4.
* Use the (unstable) nightly build of OctoPi on your Pi4. They have an image that is less than 10 days old if you scroll to the bottom.
