SIM cover has popped off the board

Post by syskeys »

Hi
I bought a Pi v3 B+ from Adafruit about a year ago (see order below).

The SIM would not click into place, so the card would move around a bit, and cause occasional issues. Now the silver cover that holds the SIM has completely popped off the board. I can't see how to get it back on.

Do I have to replace the board?

Appreciate your guidance on this.

Thanks

Anthony

It sounds like when you say SIM cover you mean SD card cover?

You can try to repair the board yourself. There are four solder points for the metallic cover.

You can boot the Pi from another media (USB thumb drive or USB SSD) which is often much better disk performance.
