I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B - 2 GB model on March 23, 2022 which I am unable to boot up. I get a light that flashes on and slowly dims down and the green light which blinks in sync with the red light (though doesn't slowly dim). This seems to happen with no clear pattern though it is consistent and doesn't seem to stop or pause at any point. I am using a Canakit Raspberry Pi 4 USB-C Power Supply that should be outputting 5.1V and 3.5A. I am curious if this indicates a fault with the board.
The first SD card I tried with it was one I had used for a Raspberry Pi Zero W I have which I formatted as FAT32 and put a new image on it (Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit)). I tried a clean, brand-new SD card, formatted as FAT32, and put the same image on it but same result. As mentioned, no SD card also yields the same flashing.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Not Booting
Hi, have you tried all the options mentioned here? https://raspberryexpert.com/raspberry-pi-not-booting/
If you already have tried and still the problem persists, I think you got a faulty board. You'd better contact your supplier for warranty.
In case your board is not faulty, here is a tutorial on Raspbian installation that may help you: https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/ ... -pi-4.html

How are you writing the OS image to the SD card? (what software is being used)
What is the full name of the OS image file your are using?

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Not Booting
I am using the Raspberry Pi Imager for Windows with "Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit)" selected for the operating system. I have made sure it is formatted to FAT32 as well prior to writing the image to the SD card.adafruit_support_carter wrote:How are you writing the OS image to the SD card? Thanks. That OS should generally be OK. So not that, assuming it imaged OK to SD card.
Try the sanity check test here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/raspberry-pi ... 4-recovery
and see if that tells us anything. If it seems to indicate a bad EEPROM bootloader, can try the recovery process shown there as well.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Not Booting
Finally got some time to give that article an attempt, I had tried powering it with everything else unplugged (including the SD card) but it still continuously flashes the red LED and blinks the green one. I gave the recovery image a shot and waited a little bit longer than the 10 seconds it says to wait but that didn't seem to make much of a difference. I tried paying close attention to the flashing red LED to see if there's any identifiable pattern at all but it seems pretty consistent and doesn't appear to stop at all. Tried the unplugging everything again as well but no difference.adafruit_support_carter wrote:Thanks. That OS should generally be OK. So not that, assuming it imaged OK to SD card.
