I received a RPi 400 kit yesterday, and it does not display anything on the monitor. The power light flashes green briefly, but regularly, with about a second between flashes.
So far, I have-
1) Tried it on several different monitors
2) Modified the config.txt file
3) tried reinstalling the OS, on multiple different micro sd cards (including the pre-installed one from the kit) using Raspberry Pi Imager. This also included trying several different OS's through the imager.
4) Using a different micro HDMI to hdmi cable
Any help would be appreciated. This is supposed to be a birthday present to my cousin early next month.

Re: RPi 400 doesn't appear to start
Hi Dave,
I've taken a look through the troubleshooting guide. I guess one think I am confused about are the flash codes. What does it mean if it is consistently blinking green, with no discernable pattern? Otherwise, I've swapped out all the hardware I can, and modified the config file in the way they suggested, with no success.

Thanks,

Re: RPi 400 doesn't appear to start
"Randomly" blinking with no pattern would indicate that I's working and accessing the SD card happily.
If the blinking is a repeating pattern of long blinks followed by short blinks, there's an error and the blink pattern will indicate what the error is.

It is an extremely regular blink, flashing briefly about every second. It continues blinking like this even when the SD card is removed as well.

And it matches none of the documented error patterns?

Re: RPi 400 doesn't appear to start
That appears to be the case. The troubleshooting guide states that "In most cases, the pattern will repeat after a 2 second gap.", however, there is no gap. It just blinks briefly every second, in perpetuity. There isn't even a gap every 10 blinks, which is the longest specified in the guide.

OK, sounds DOA.
I'd authorize a replacement for you, but there is a general shortage of Raspberry Pis. Due to that we may only be able to offer refunds or store credit.
But it's worth a try. Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread, your order number, and request the replacement of one Raspberry Pi 400. Also indicate if you'd prefer a refund or store credit in the event a replacement isn't possible.
