hiya thank you for your patience! i spent a bit of time on this today (was a cold sunday :)
we'll be re-genning the pkg and image. for now the straight-forwardest way is

1) burn the PiTFT SD image or install pitft onto your Pi Jessie as normal
2) download and unzip https://adafruit-download.s3.amazonaws. ... atekit.zip copy those files into /boot or plug the SD card into a computer and copy/replace the older files with the update
3) reboot
4) profit!

please try it out! let me know if it does or doesn't work - again we will be making new pkgs but this is a quick fix!

Just to be clear-this fix is meant to work with the PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5" TFT+Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi - Pi 2 and Model A+ / B+
PRODUCT ID: 2441. Is that right? I want to be sure before I order one.

Thanks,
Rod

I understand that this is a work in progress. I just would like to know which PiTFT version you are currently trying to make work with the Raspberry Pi 3.

Just tried on my Pi3 - no go...
Have a small multi-color box in the upper right corner of the hdmi display - white screen on PiFTF(3.5)

no difference if I boot without the HDMI connected. This was a just writing the image to an sd - and updating the supplied files - no other updates/upgrades done. (Using this downloaded image - 2016-02-26-raspbian-jessie.zip )

Thanks for the work on this!

Paul

Thank you!
Just tried it, wrote your jessie image to a 16gb card, replaced the files as you decribed and hey presto!

Just tried on my PiTFT 3.5 (2441) and it´s not working. The white screen disappears after 5 seconds and then there is only a black screen.
I´ve installed the latest jessie image and followed the instructions to install the pitft.
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pitft-3-dot-5-touch-screen-for-raspberry-pi/easy-install

After that i copied the new files to sd.
Did i something wrong?

Thank you

So how would one go about getting this to work with RetroPie? I have a 2441 and a fresh install of RetroPie v3.6, but I'm not at the level where I have any idea how to marry these things together.

Thank you muchly! I verified that the Jessie 35r image plus the pi3 update files do work for certain. I already have a PiGRRL2 image so I'll try that next.

So, unfortunately, that did not work. For the moment I'm going back to the Jessie install that did. I'll try to add RetroPie to that.
