Hi,
I’m attempting to upload this blink code (https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... rduino-ide) but the gemma is not blinking red.
I selected board > Adafruit Gemma (ATtiny85 @ 8Mhz)
I hit the reset button as mentioned on page > https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... rduino-ide
Here is the Error Message from Arduino:

//

Arduino: 1.8.5 (Mac OS X), Board: "Adafruit Gemma (ATtiny85 @ 8MHz)"

Sketch uses 680 bytes (12%) of program storage space. Maximum is 5310 bytes.
Global variables use 9 bytes of dynamic memory.
avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f)
avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f)

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

//

I tried both USB ports of my MacBook Pro.
Thank you for your help.

Sorry that you didn't get a reply. I am using a MacBook Pro and cannot upload any code to a Gemma. It is an older Gemma, not the MO. I have tried both USB ports on the Mac and two different good cables. I think that the fix is you will need a powered USB hub. I was successful uploading Arduino code to a Gemma with my MacBook Pro previously. I lost my powered USB hub due to a fire and have ordered a new one. It should be here within the hour. (Most likely it will be tomorrow.) I can return here and report my success or failure.

Definitely make sure you are using a good USB cable that is NOT charge only. Are the USB ports you are trying to use all USB 3.0?

Hi, I was using USB 3.0.
As far as the USB Cable, it was thick so I presume that it did more then charge, but perhaps I should try again with another one.
Thank you for helping me.
