Hi All -
I am planning to break the Monster Mask in 2, in order to attach an eyeball to a glove on the palm of each hand - think Pan's Labyrinth. [https://BANNED.com/pans-labyrinth-g ... est-movie/]
I don't think there is a way to synchronize 2 Hallowing's eye movements without having them connected, so I would like to be able to move my hands more than 4 inches apart, utilizing the JST SH 9-Pin Cable - 100mm long [https://www.adafruit.com/product/4350], as that is very limiting.download/file.php?mode=view&id=87435
Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Thanks!
Erin

Re: Need a longer cable between Monster Eyes' or a way to sy
I have two thoughts on this:
1) you can cut the 9-wire cable and splice/solder 9 longer wires between the two ends. Make sure to inslate all the joints with heatshrink (e.g. https://www.adafruit.com/product/344 look at the "may we also suggest" for more options).
2) I'm concerned that that might be too long of wires for the signals involved.
It's just a few dollars for a cable and wire to give it a try. If it works the result would be awesome.

Looks like there are both SPI and i2c signals in that cable. I2c in particular can be problematic in longer runs. Beyond about 3 feet, you might need something like this for it to work reliably: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4756

You will probably have fewer problems using a pair of Hallowings and https://learn.adafruit.com/synchronized ... hallowings. You still need an I2C connection between them, but with the active termination that Bill linked to, it should work. Worst case, they can just run independently. The effect won't be as good, but it'd still be something.
