Issue with NeoPixel Goggles

Post by sabarrett328 »

Hi. Maybe someone can help. I just assembled the NeoPixel goggles and only 6 of the LEDs on the ring connected directly to the trinket will illuminate. It looks great, well sorta.... I've triple checked connections and verified correct polarity on the second ring with a volt meter. All looks good. I don't SEE any solder bridges anywhere, but hey, my eyes are 48 years old as of Tuesday.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Scott

Please post a photo of the front of the rings. That is where bridges are most likely to occur.

Since I was awake this morning, and you spoke of bridges, I went back, and although I couldn't see any, I retouched each pad with the iron. After redoing this, ITS ALIVE! I don't know if it was a cold joint or a bridge, but all seems fine. I'll finish this up so I can add it to what I take to my daughters robot competition today. Thanks.

Sounds good. Thanks for the follow-up and good luck at the robot competition.
