Create Beanie Hat with LED (w Switch)

I run programs for adults in a public library makerspace, but am new to tech-based projects. So, I'm trying to start small!

I want to do this project: https://youtu.be/lpf-znZNfC8 ("How to add an LED to a beanie hat").

Would the 12mm Coin Cell Breakout w/ On-Off Switch (#1867) https://www.adafruit.com/product/1867 and Adafruit LED Sequins (#1758) https://www.adafruit.com/product/1758 work?

As I have to order enough for 12 students, I don't want to mess up.

If you have different suggestions, any advice is appreciated. :)

Hello, so I purchased a 12mm coin cell breakout board, LED light, and conductive thread.

I've tried sewing the circuit on felt, and it did not work. I then tried to sew it without the felt, and it still does not work.

I've attached a photo--it's not great quality, so I had to do it again not on the felt (and it didn't work then either). Please help!

You have made your connections to the mounting holes. Those have no connection to the battery.

Connect the '-' side of the sequin to one of the GND holes.
Connect the '+' side of the sequin to the SW hole.

Use the switch to turn it on and off.
