Flora V3 neopixel only blue

by kelad on Sun Mar 01, 2020 2:25 am

Hi Guys
I'm playing with the Flora V3 and loading in the sample code given to 'blink the on-board neopixel'. I load the code ok, however the neopixel only ever lights up blue.
It stays blue solid for seconds, then flashes, turns off for a few seconds and then repeats.
I think the colorWipe and rainbowCycle code is running, but only blue is shown. Really weird. I even tried only this command
strip.setPixelColor(0, 255, 0, 0);
for red, but neopixel remains off. If I put
strip.setPixelColor(0, 0, 0, 255); then it lights blue.

Can anyone help? Is this board a dud?
Thanks
Tom

Weird. Today I tried again and strip.setPixelColor(0, 255, 0, 0); now gives me red, however green does not work i.e strip.setPixelColor(0, 0, 255, 0)

Red and Blue work but no green....any hints? I have tried everything.

Thanks alot.

Ok, so I assume this is faulty. How can I return and get a replacement ? Thanks

Sounds like it might be a flakey NeoPixel. Let's double check with one more sketch. Try running this:

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
#include <Adafruit_NeoPixel.h>

#define PIN 8

Adafruit_NeoPixel strip = Adafruit_NeoPixel(1, PIN, NEO_GRB + NEO_KHZ800);

void setup() {
  strip.begin();
  strip.setPixelColor(0, 0xFFFFFF);
  strip.show();
}

void loop() {
}

Which should turn on all 3 color channels. Is the result for you white or magenta?
