Did I kill the Itsy or the neopixel?

by hippieninja on Sat Dec 19, 2020 11:37 am

first time post, and first real project in a LONG time...

https://learn.adafruit.com/rezz-inspire ... el-glasses - Made this for my wife, after i got everything wired up, when i was securing the PCBS, the hinge joint broke on my frame, so.... not wanting to resolder on the pcb, i clipped the wires and was going to resolder after i replaced the arm.... realized after i cut the wires and was resoldering, that i forgot to unplug the battery pack..... the unit had been off via the switch the entire time....but now when i turn everything on, the neopixel rings are not coming on..... the itsy boots up and then glows green when i power it up.... but no neopixels anymore....

trying to see if i screwed up and need to reorder something quickly, or what...

thanks in advance

If the power switch was off (and the trace cut) on the backpack, there should not have been a problem due to the battery. Double check all you solder joints. If you post some nice close-up photos of your soldering and connections, we'll see if wee can spot any potential problems.
