Weird. The hardware seems OK since you can at least get the CircuitPython serial output to show up. As mentioned above, CircuitPython will only show up on one display.

Not sure why the diagnostic UF2 is not working though.

Is the cable connecting the two halves together securely fastened? The Arduino code for the diagonstics and eyes will try and use both displays. So maybe something happening with the bridge connection between the two halves?

I just reconnected the bridge. Everything seems secure. Did the diagnostic and again the screen went black and I'm not able to open the CIRCUITPY folder on reset. Double reset does open the MASKM4BOOT folder, but the screen is still black. Just added the python back in MASKM4. It rebooted and went to CIRCUITPY and same message on screen with purple python as before. Still no eyes.

Not seeing the CIRCUITPY folder when the diagnostic UF2 is loaded is expected.

Can you correlate the failure to anything? It was working for an hour then stopped working.

Not really, it went black and the red light started blinking.

Can you post a photo showing the backside of the other half. Your first post only has backside photo of the one half - the half with the USB connector.

Do you think the junction cord could be the issue? If so, I could order a new one and see if that corrects the problem.

It *might* be. Or something else related to the bridging. You've been using it broken in two like this the whole time?

Yes, and it worked like that for a while. I’ve ordered a new cable. If that doesn’t work I’ll let ya’ll know. Cross your fingers.

Thanks for doing that. That will at least be a good sanity check. Everything looks generally OK in your photos. Just respond back here when you get the new cable and test. Also fingers crossed.

ok so when you got it, it came with two working eyes

then two things happened:
the bridge was broken, and re-connected with a cable
and
the second eye stopped working

which came first of those two things?

No, both eyes worked after the bridge was broken and the adapter was attached.

id say it sounds like the cable is loose or something happened to it, becuase the eye code is expecting to communicate with the other side and not succeeding

That’s what I was thinking. I’ve already ordered a new cable. I’ll let ya’ll know if that fixes the problem or not. Thanks for the help!
