Monster Mask Eyes 'Died'

Post by kwright92509 »

Last week, installed my new Monster M4SK in a Halloween mask and everything was working fine. No issues. Now, when I power it on only the right LED comes on or lights up. No eyes at all. How do I troubleshoot the eyes or do I need to buy another monster mask. My invoice No. - 2412259.
Thanks for your help.

How are you powering it?

Dave: Got it working. Had to download CircuitPython and M4SKEYES.UF2 files again but it is working now. Is this a 'static' issue? The eyes are powered using the usb to the IOT power Relay from Digital Loggers.

Thanks for your quick response.

Same/similar problem. Powered by adafruit small litihium battery.

Actions:
Plug mask to USB. Get yellow light for charging. Finishes charging.
Remove USB. Turn on mask switch. Only get pulsing red LED and no eyes.

I didn't know how to follow the answer of October 17. Can you point to source of files and directions for how to use them in this case?
Or provide advice on alternate solution?

Thanks.

Followed the 'SPI Flash Filesystem' approach. Connect MONSTER M4SK to your computer with a USB cable, downloaded the CircuitPython 7.0.0 file, copied into the MASKM4BOOT drive, the CIRCUITPY drive appears.

Next, downloaded the M4SKEYES.UF2 file from the M4 EYES Firmware page. Then got into the bootloader mode one more time by double tapping, then dragged the M4SKEYES.UF2 file to the M4SKBOOT bootloader drive AND NOT THE CIRCUITPY drive.

This seemed to work. Good luck.

I'm having the exact same issue. So dissapointed. Hopefully I can figure out how to follow these instructions and get it working again.
