Qt Py and Atmel Studio

by jtgartner on Mon Feb 22, 2021 4:33 pm

Hello,

I’m attempting to import an Arduino Qt-Py project into Atmel Studio and have some questions.

I created a small sample Qt Py test project in the Arduino IDE, then attempted to import it into Atmel Studio. After selecting the Arduino project, in the Create C++ Project dialog the Board is: “Adafruit QT PY (AMD21)” but the Device is “ATSAMD21G18A”, not ATSAMD21E18A as I would have expected.

Then when I click Ok, I get an error message stating that “The device architecture is not valid. Atmel Studio does not support this board/device combination”. Also, I cannot change the Device to ATSAMD21E18A in the Atmel Studio Create C++ Project dialog.

I can successfully download to the QT PY using the Arduino IDE.

What am I missing here? Should I be able to do this? I would think so.

Thanks,
Jack
(Also, hopefully this is the correct forum. If not, let me know and I’ll repost it in the correct one)
