Rick,
I tried your instructions including even restarting Arduino IDE, swapping USB ports, using a 2.0 USB hub and finally reloading the boot loader using your instructions on this page (https://learn.adafruit.com/introducing- ... bootloader) but still only the one 5v pro out of the three works :/ Now that I was aware it could happen I also tested the three 3v trinket pro boards that came in the same order and only one of those worked even after trying all the work arounds. I'm practicing ESD safe protocols and of course using the exact same setup for each of the boards (other than changing configuration in Arduino IDE for 5v vs 3v boards) but I can't seem to lock in on why some boards work fine and others just won't. We build electronics at work and I love using Adafruit for quick and dirty prototyping of new ideas because your stuff is so easy and reliable. I've never had this low of a success rate from a Adafruit product before. I avoid returns as they waste everyones time but I'm stumped and theres work to get done so let me know what you'd like me to do.

This is very odd. Is it possible for you to try them with a different computer?

Ok. Think this confirms it. 1 of the 5v boards just won't load and 2 of the 3v boards. As you suggested I tried it with another computer (a laptop this time just to be even more different) but the results were the same. I think this time I just got unlucky with my order :(
