trinket not recognized

Post by voss »

I just received my adafruit order, including book, getting started with trinket and the included 5v trinket, and also a pro trinket.
I downloaded the adafruit IDE etc., per the book, on a WIN 7 laptop.
The Pro trinket board works as advertised.
The little trinket is not reconized.
* When plugged in, task bar shows: USB device not recognized.
* Device Manager shows: unknown device ... under USB controllers.
* Under Devices and Printers: shows unknown device.
When plugged in ... I see " ONLY" solid Green LED ... NO Red led.
When reset button is pressed... it has no effect at all on the Green Led ... no flash, flicker... nothing... just solid Green.
When board is unplugged from the computer ...hear the normal USB device beep.
When reconnected... hear ... the normal USB device beep again.
Is the bootloader bad.
I have no other Arduino items, just a FTDI cable... your part# 70.
Is there anything I can do here, or does board need to be replaced?
Tks,
cv

Sounds like the trinket doesn't have a bootloader installed. If you have a Uno, you can try reloading the bootloader.

Or you can email [email protected] with a link to this post for a replacement Trinket
