My second 3V Trinket will not flash/load

Hi!

I am building my second Arduino-Twinkle-Lights-Array from the July 2017 Make: magazine. The first one worked perfectly using my Mac and the IDE.

I built the second one which is identical. When I connect the USB the red light on the Trinket does not come on. I pushed the boot load button, and it still does not come on. When I do a build and upload, I get this error: avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x1781/0xc9f).

I unsoldered all of the light strings so that nothing is connected to the board other than the Lipo backback.

I have attached some pictures.

Could you please help me sort out this problem?

Can you post a larger version of the last photo so we can see the detail better?

The assembly & soldering look fine. And you seem to be getting power to the board. I suspect that the bootloader on the Trinket is either corrupted or not flashed.
