Trinket, Bluetooth UART, and led strip won't work please hel

Trinket, Bluetooth UART, and led strip won't work please hel

I have been following the bluetooth controlled neopixel goggles tutorial (https://learn.adafruit.com/bluetooth-ne ... s/overview) in connecting a trinket 3.3v to the UART Bluetooth friend and a neopixel strip. The bluetooth component works (connects to the app on my phone successfully) but the LED strip only flashes once when i turn on the battery pack (using 3 AAA batteries). The leds should light up as soon as i turn on the battery pack. I have already switched out the batteries so I know there are 5v going to the LEDs. Is this something wrong with my code or something wrong with my LEDs? Thanks!
