In the Arduino Tools menu, do you have the Programmer set to USBtinyISP?

Are you pressing the reset button on the trinket just before the upload begins? The red LED should be pulsing when the upload begins.

This might not be a driver problem but my computer does not recognise my trinket 3/5V if I have a keyboard plugged in. If i unplug my keyboard all works fine. Have tried 2 different keyboards without success.

Sounds like a problem with your computer's USB ports or with your keyboard.

Thanks to all in this thread. I was having the same "Device Descriptor Request Failed" problem for my Adafruit Gemma v2 on Win 8.1 x64.

After moving to a USB 2.0 hub (embedded in my SIIG keyboard http://www.amazon.com/SIIG-JK-US0412-S1 ... 0039TQH4M/), the board was seen as a Trinket in Device Manager.

Updating to the signed drivers, they showed up as USBtiny, but with an error (yellow exclamation point).

After resetting the Gemma, I'm in business!

My trinket 3v shows up in device manager as described when drivers are installed properly. However when I go into the arduino ide, there are no ports to select.

Help

(Windows 10)

The Trinket does not have a serial port. You won't see one. Instead, the trinket emulates a USBtinyISP programmer. Press the reset button to start the bootloader at the same time you click the upload button in Arduino.
