Adafruit XBee Adapter part no 247 holds pin 3 DIN at 3v3

Post by spoggles »

Hello:
My XBee Adapter appears to have a constant 3v3 at pin 3 (DIN /CONFIG/DIO14),, preventing DIN from being an input.

Placing a 1 K resistor from DIN to 0v0 does not change the voltage on this pin, it remains at 3v3.

Additionally changing this port to an output low config. with XCTU pulls the pin to 0.250V and causes a RESET condition.

This part is made by Parallax, not Adafruit but was shipped from your stock. I have an older XBee Adapter made by you guys that seems to operate as expected.

Help.

When did you purchase it and could you post pictures of the soldering? did it start immediately or come on after you used it for a while?

Franklin:
DIN to the Xbee is held high by the USB port from my laptop via the adapter. As the USB adapter connects directly to DIN, it makes sense why I am seeing what I do. Looks like if I want to have two Xbee 'talking' together, I need to NOT have my USB adapter in the picture. I will use a shield where I can disconnect the USB from DIN.
