I've been looking into Bluetooth LE for communication between two Adruino Pro Mini computers and have a question that hopefully someone can answer. My understanding is (and please correct me if I'm wrong) in the Bluetooth LE world the the peripheral device is the breakout board and the central device is the iPhone, Android or computer.
Here's my question: Why aren't there any Bluetooth LE central breakouts? Why only an iPhone, Android or computer? Is it a licensing issue, a coding issue of some sort, or something else?
Thanks,
Jack

Re: Bluetooth LE central breakout?
It's mainly a demand issue. There isn't much demand for small scale standalone BLE central breakouts.
The Central's logic is also more complex than the peripheral logic—requiring a beefier processor and more memory.
