RF M4 Reciever, Slow Reaction from M4 Reciever

by inexplicable01 on Sat Feb 29, 2020 11:18 pm

Hi all,

I have a Simple RF M4 Receiver - 315MHz and the corresponding Keyfob from Adafruit
Reciever
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1096?g ... M7EALw_wcB
KeyFob:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1095

The reciever type I'm using is Momentary Type.

I have it hooked up to my Raspberri pi. So far, I have it working but with a caveat. When I press a button on the keyfob, it is registered on the Pi no problem.

The problem that I am running into is that the receiver output pin raises slowly or has a delay. A user needs to hold the Keyfob button for at least about ~0.5 seconds for the receiver output pin to rise to a level that the Rasp Pi can register. Therefore if my press of the keyfob is a 0.3 second ish click(perfectly normal) or if the user is pressing very quickly in succession the outpin doesn't register High.

Is there a problem with my setup. I noticed that even in the demo videos, there is a time lag also. How can I get rid of this time lag? Or at least make it less?

Should I perhaps have the output pin hooked up to a transistor and have the Rasp Pi detect some sort of Falling Signal detection instead of Rise?

Thank you,

They're low power, they're inexpensive, but they're not fast. I brought this up and the admin confirmed it in another thread. Sorry.
