Bluefruit LE for connecting to other HID devices

by markczumbel on Fri Oct 09, 2020 6:30 am

Hi All,

My plan is to control an Arduino with a HID device such as a Bluetooth VR remote control or a Bluetooth keyboard. (I only need a few input triggers, such as pressing 2 or 4 separate buttons on the remote control that would trigger 4 different tasks on the Arduino side.)

So far from my search on the internet i found that Bluefruit LE UART Friend could be one possible module that can be used to establish a connection between a HID device and Arduino. However, I am not sure whether this is really possible, because posts discuss how to use the module as a HID device, but not how to connect with other HID devices.

Any answer would be much appreciated.

The Bluefruit LE UART Friend is only capable of operating in peripheral mode. It cannot operate as a Central, so it cannot directly communicate with other peripherals.

To operate as a central device, you would need something like a Feather nRF52 Bluefruit LE:
