Can two Adafruit wifi devices talk to each other over my LAN

Can two Adafruit wifi devices talk to each other over my LAN?

I connected a BME680 (product 3660) to a PyPortal, connected the PyPortal to my wifi network, and by expert copy and paste of Circuitpython from Adafruit learning documents, to my delight I can see the BME680's sensor readings via a free io.adafruit.com account in Safari on my Mac.

But, instead of using Adafruit IO, is it possible to have the readings "seen" directly by another PyPortal that is connected to the same wifi network, i.e. without any computer and preferably without any "cloud" being involved?

If this is possible please point me to an Adafruit learning document or give me and idea of how this can be done.

Thank you.
