Adafruit site error & General feedback

by LessMore on Mon Apr 12, 2021 9:22 am

I found no other channels for submitting site bug reports.

A bad link embedded in lots of github code and on site tutorials, getting 404 error:

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
/* For BLE MIDI Setup
 * https://learn.adafruit.com/wireless-untztrument-using-ble-midi/overview
 */

The root page now contains the Overview
https://learn.adafruit.com/wireless-unt ... -ble-midi/

The article Index Overview link now goes to:
https://learn.adafruit.com/wireless-unt ... ontownlabs ???

Looks like the revision: "This page (Overview) was last updated on Mar 31, 2021."
probably broke the Overview page

------------------------------

An idea for better standardizing the Arduino code in product articles:

I understand the growing number of boards and addition of Circuitpython strains resources.

What about a central database of Arduino IDE Board and Variant data that can be used to automatically check if a given piece of example code used in tutorials will work with a specific board. This could be used to generate a list of boards or list of example code available to authors or users.
A tutorial could be automatically reformatted to match the current product being addressed.

As is, there is an inconsistent depth of coverage product to product, though they have the same capabilities in some cases.

(The ItsyBitsy nRF52840 Express I'm dealing with has mostly Circuitpython tutorial information, due to the time it was introduced?, Arduino is mentioned just? in the download section.)

A case the lead to this thinking:
I noticed the parenthetical mention of the I2S pins on a QT Py board, ending up spending some time test compiling Adafruit example code in Arduino to see if it's applicable to that board ( I2S doesn't have much coverage on the Adafruit site, presumably because there are not many I2S products offered.)

Thanks. The best way for something that's related to a guide is to report it via the guide feedback link:
