Hello, I bought the Bluefruit LE Sniffer - Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.0) - nRF51822 - V3.0 from Adafruit Bluefruit.
So, I downloaded nRF Sniffer for Bluetooth LE 3.0 and tried to use Wireshark
according to the 'Introducing the Adafruit Bluefruit LE Sniffer' https://cdn-learn.adafruit.com/download ... niffer.pdf
and 'nRF Sniffer for Bluetooth LE v3.0.0 User Guide' https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/pdf/n ... G_v3.0.pdf
But there was an invisible problem in the Wireshark interface.
In the user guide, this problem is because of firmware HEX file.
So, I tried to install and use nRF Connect to program the firmware HEX file.
But I have 'Unsupported device. The detected device could not be recognized as neither JLink device nor Nordic USB device.' problem, so I failed.
1. The 'Introducing the Adafruit Bluefruit LE Sniffer' says nRF Sniffer V2, but is there any way to use nRF Sniffer V3?
2. Adafruit says "A cost-optimized v3.0 board that uses a CP2104 USB chip and drops the SWD connector. v3.0 can run all of the same firmware as v2.0, and is the latest board available."
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.0) - nRF51822 - V3.0 also need SWD programming jig in order to install/change the sniffer firmware?
2. If then, the 'Introducing the Adafruit Bluefruit LE Sniffer' says "You need a J-Link or other SWD programming jig in order to install/change the sniffer firmware"
But nRF Connect does not support nRF51822, how I install the sniffer firmware? Is there any way not using nRF Connect or nRFgo Studio(I failed too)?
Thank you very much. Have a nice day!

It looks as though this guide is actively being updated (see timestamps at the bottom of each page)...
If you feel that is necessary then yes you will need a J-Link and you can explore using our internal flasher utility designed for the nRF51822.

Do you need to update the firmware for your sniffing needs? This guide was first published on Nov 19, 2014. It was last updated on Nov 19, 2014.
