Autolinking two wireless Feathers?

Post by LouHawthorne »

Hi everyone – I have an application in which two Feathers (or their Wings) need to link up automatically once both are powered up. Does anyone know if the BLE Feathers can do this? For instance, two BLE Feathers I am considering are:
1) nRF52840 Express (https://www.adafruit.com/product/4062); or
2) nRF52 Bluefruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/3406).
If this can't be done via BLE, then I'm open to using a radio Feather. Range will always be <10 feet for this application.
FYI, if there's no solution for automatic linking on power-up, then I'm open to an "idiot-proof" manual linking method, like pressing one button on each unit and waiting for a light to go on. If the Feathers themselves are capable of that, I can probably figure out how to program it. Just trying to save myself from going down a blind alley in terms of hardware selection.
Thanks in advance for your guidance!
