TinyPico Is faulty. Fatal error. Failed to connect

Post by shenoyprajwal26 »

Hello

We recently purchased a tinypico from Adafruit's official distributor: FabtoLab (https://www.fabtolab.com/adafruit-4335- ... h=tinypico

The tinypico is different from the conventional ESP32 board that it has an auto reset circuit on it so that we just have to upload the code and flash it without the need for pressing any boot buttons during the upload process. (We had purchased 2 boards in November and both boards worked great)

However, it turns out that, in the Tinypico we recently purchased, the board is detected, but the code is not uploaded. I get the following message on uploading the code:

"A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header"

Usually this HAPPENS in esp32 boards and one needs to press the boot button for flashing. But this process is supposed to be seamless in tinypico. But in the board that we purchased, there is some problem.

We contacted UnexpectedMaker on the discord app. The maker of this board agreed that the hardware is faulty and I should request for replacement. However, FabtoLab insists that they need confirmation from adafruit forum for replacement. Please help us in this regard. The following is the screenshot of the debugging that was done and as requested by UnexpectedMaker.

Looks like UnexpectedMaker has verified the board is probably bad. So we agree with their assessment and the board should be replaced.
