RF Transmitter/Receiver Help

So for a long time I've been looking for a way to wirelessly control my robot. Wanting to stick to arduino and raspberry pi, I tried out the adafruit wireless breakout board. It worked, but due to the amount of interference, the movement was very fidgety. I have now found this transmitter and receiver. I now have 3 questions.

How can I integrate the board into this Motor Control board (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1438) to control 4 dc motors (two on each side for an RC car like design)

How can I increase the distance (100 feet would be great)?

Is there a more efficient way to do this?

Sorry for these questions, I'm relatively new to this. My idea for my first question was to connect the transmitter to an input pin on my Arduino Uno R3 which will then send data to the shield and tell the motor to rotate. Not too sure that will work.

My idea for the second one would be to buy an adafruit antenna and solder it onto the antenna spot on the transmitter.

Your idea for controlling the robot is correct. The Arduino will check the pins and the program will tell the shield what you want to do. As for the antenna these devices are pretty much what you see. Aside from unrolling the antenna wire and placing the receiver as high as possible there is not much you can do to increase the range.
