Firmware for SIM800H

Post by vaaalbara »

Hello all. When I try to run a SSL related AT command on my SIM800H Adafruit board I get an error (I am using PuTTY to pass these commands, I turn on the board, then run AT+SSLOPT=1,1 and get ERROR back).

I have heard that the SIM800H's ability to use SSL depends on the firmware that is on the board. Currently, my device is on R13.08. I have the USB cables to connect it to my PC, and the firmware update tool. However, I cannot find more firmware files - it seems that simcoms website is no longer being available.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some firmware that will enable the SSL abilities of the SIM800H?

Thanks

If you mean the simcom.ee site, I ran into the same issue a couple days ago and nearly passed out. I rely on it quite a bit for various manuals/guides/etc... for my boards. I've never updated firmware though, is that the *.rar files I'm seeing?

Anyways, you can (sorta) get back to simcom.ee with the archive.org link below:

I've found sometimes I need to change the date of when the archive was made to get what I want, but so far no problems.
