IOT Introduction using FONA

Post by biod101 »

Hello,

Over the last two years, I’ve been exploring the use of Adafruit’s FONA mini-GSM breakout as well as the Feather FONA for posting environmental data to the Internet of Things. Thanks to the FONA libraries and sample code prepared by Adafruit, I’ve managed to deploy solar powered remote environmental monitors, and even realize some performance metrics for the same.

For those non-electrical engineers (like me) that are interested or just getting started, I’ve put together some videos summarizing wiring, code, and performance metrics. The videos are available via these links:
I’d welcome additional input on code or performance improvements in order to build a better product, and will include a link to this thread in the respective videos moving forward. My sincerest thanks to Adafruit_Rick, Adafruit_Bill, and the many other posts in this forum for all your help in getting me to this point.

Hans
