Can Adafruit FONA 808 GSM,GPS module powered with the Arduin

Hello Adafruit,
We have recently purchased Adafruit FONA 808 Shield - Mini Cellular GSM + GPS for Arduino module. We soldered the module and uploaded code which was provided on the website. We are not getting any response from the module, the AT commands are repeating in the loop but it is not ending with the "ok" command.

Actually, we have powered the module with the Arduino UNO board, is it the right way to do or should we compulsorily use Lipo battery or is it ok with Arduino UNO also.

The FONA can't work unless you connect a LiPo. It uses up to 3A of burst curent when communicating with a cell tower, and no other energy source you can connect to the Shield can provide that much:
