Hi,
Where can I find the Fona 3G Bill of material (BOM) with manufacturer part number. The exported BOM from the provided Eagle schematic & Board files do not show the manufacturer/Digikey part number. If this board is open source then why are the manufacturer part number missing. Kindly reply asap.
best regards,
Nomaan.

Re: Fona 3G BOM Part Number
Our BOM is specified in terms of our own inventory management system, and we tend to buy from suppliers with MOQs (minimum order quantity) in the 5k to 15k range.
Our supplier contracts forbid us from sharing source information with third parties, but even if we could share the info, it wouldn't be useful to the average builder.
Digikey/Mouser part numbers also dramatically overspecify the hardware requirements for a given part. You can get 1% thick-film 10k 0805 resistors from Bourns, KOA, Rohm, Vishay, Xicom, and Yageo (among others), and they'll all work equally well. Spec'ing Bourns CR0805-FX-1002ELFTR-ND:
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/ ... ND/3593209
creates more problems than it solves.
And there's no electrical reason to prefer thick-film over thin-film, metal-film, or metal-foil. Thick-film just tends to be cheaper.

Re: Fona 3G BOM Part Number
Hello Mike,
Thanks for the reply. With capacitors there are many factors associated like Tolerance, LOW ESR/ESL ,ultra low ESR and etc. What I believe is that the components used are not just specific to package type and values like capacitance, resistance and etc.
If possible kindly provide just the digikey/mouse part number of the components used in Fona-3g Module.
Arduino Boards do have all digikey/mouser part numbers in its BOM as its open source.
Best Regards,
Niradat.

Any special requirements are listed in the schematics.
The designs are Open, but provisioning is the job of anyone who wants to make one.
