Unencrypted WIFI

by uvaccus on Sat Jun 23, 2018 1:59 pm

I am a hobbyist so please forgive me for misusing terminologies.

I am using Feather Huzzah32 (esp32) and Adafruit.io library for a project. Here is my problem, and I thought this should be easy but I cannot find documentation that seems to be helpful.

I need to connect to an unencrypted WiFi with no password required. But seems like this line "AdafruitIO_WiFi io(IO_USERNAME, IO_KEY, WIFI_SSID, WIFI_PASS);" in the config requires a WIFI_PASS. I tried left "#define WIFI_PASS " blank, but didn't work. Is there a workaround?

Thanks!

There isn't a workaround that I know of, the Adafruit IO Arduino Library requires both a SSID and password for connecting to a WiFi network.

Could you post your code? There should be a way to connect to an unencrypted access point, I know there is in the WiFi101 libraries.
