Adding more than 10 feeds

by flygremlin on Wed Nov 07, 2018 2:27 pm

Hi guys, just ordered the parts and starting to make the air quality monitor per this tutorial,

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-io- ... t-io-setup

maybe I'm reading this wrong but it seems that you need to setup 7 feeds and then an additional 7 feeds but it seems that the limit is 10 feeds am I doing somthing wrong here?

I only see the seven feeds
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
// set up the feeds for the BME280
AdafruitIO_Feed *temperatureFeed = io.feed("temperature");
AdafruitIO_Feed *humidityFeed = io.feed("humidity");
AdafruitIO_Feed *pressureFeed = io.feed("pressure");
AdafruitIO_Feed *altitudeFeed = io.feed("altitude");
// set up feed for the VEML6070
AdafruitIO_Feed *uvFeed = io.feed("uv");
// set up feeds for the SGP30
AdafruitIO_Feed *tvocFeed = io.feed("tvoc");
AdafruitIO_Feed *ecO2Feed = io.feed("ecO2");
Where do you see seven more?

***correction*** misread. It was create 7 feeds and then set up 7 feeds. Thanks!!!

Just in the directions. It seemed that they were saying to create 7 feeds and then another 7 feeds. Looks like I'm just reading it incorrectly.

"We're also going to set up seven additional feeds which will be used to specify what will be displayed by an icon block:

temperature-block
humidity-block
pressure-block
altitude-block
uv-block
tvoc-block
ecO2-block"

Author here - thanks for bringing this to my attention! There are 14 feeds in total. Seven hold data and seven are used to hold icon values for icon blocks to make the dashboard look nice.

I've marked the icon block section of the guide as IO+ Only, as you'll need an IO+ subscription to use more than 10 feeds.

Hey brubell,
Thanks for the insight. I got the parts last night and wired them up this morning. Got the Hzzah feather tested and it counts on the dashboard but when I try to load the enviornmental monitor from the sketchbook it failes on the compiling with an error for: I installed the 3 sensors in the directions but maybe I missed something?

C:\Users\flygr\Documents\Arduino\libraries\Adafruit_IO_Arduino\examples\adafruitio_22_environmental_monitor\adafruitio_22_environmental_monitor.ino:23:29: fatal error: Adafruit_Sensor.h: No such file or directory
