Adafruit username incompatible with Adafruit.IO due to speci

by earendil_the_mariner on Fri Nov 30, 2018 1:33 am

When I first tried Adafruit.io a couple of years ago, I noticed that Adafruit.io parsed my username, which contains a diaresis awkwardly (eärendil --> eärendil), but I managed to get it working for a couple of projects. Some update in the intervening time seems to have finished the job, because now I get a 404 - not found error for my dashboard when I sign in to adafruit.io, and the following error when I try to perform any action (including an attempt to delete my adafruit.io account so that I might start from scratch):

"Error: not found - that is an invalid URL, please check the API documentation at https://io.adafruit.com/api/docs to make sure your URL is correct"

Howdy eärendil,

We did, indeed tighten up username requirements for the Adafruit store and Adafruit IO. You'll have to go to your account on accounts.adafruit.com and update your username to get back into IO. If you have trouble doing that, let us know.
