I'm suggesting that in the next implementation of this project you add a built in, step down converter for an Arduino. If this is added on the same side the micro controller is plugged into, we could potentially power and run our project with 4 wires and no more additional hardware!

thats kina what the always-on port is for, use any USB wall adapter or 9V adapter - thats way better than trying to fit it inside because every board has different power needs :)
