No Feed Data received

by frommy69 on Wed Jan 09, 2019 2:04 pm

Hello,
As my first attempt today I implemented the LED example

(https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-io- ... tal-output)

project with the Hazzah Feather ESP. After the instructions he uploaded the program properly and in the serial monitor he got the message that he is connected. But now I have the problem that the LED doesn't come on when I operate the dashboard. What am I doing wrong? It also doesn't show me in the serial monitor that it has received data (function: handleMessage(AdafruitIO_Data *data)). I am a beginner and don't know what to do now. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Did you start at the beginning of the lessons or are you jumping into the middle?

Hi, thanks for the quick feedback. Yes, I've worked through it all and put it clean. Feeds, dashboard, the connection. I ask me if I need to share any port at the router, so the AIO can even send data from outside?

I had created my own feed group. It doesn't work there. Now I created the feed in the default area. There it went....

Assume that it is a restriction of the test environment.

Thank you for helping me.

Hi frommy,

I'm glad you got it working!

The best way to make sure your sketch is subscribed to the correct feed is to use the key that Adafruit IO shows you when you create the feed. If you made the feed in a group, for example, you should see something like this on io.adafruit.com:

Feeds in the default group may sometimes work when you subscribe to their name, but it's always safer to use the feed key when referring to the feed in code.
