Group feed rating

by rnd_waaij on Wed Mar 27, 2019 5:23 am

Hi all,

I'm thinking how something affects the rate limit and can't find it.

The situation:
I was posting to 3 feeds separately .
I had a 2 second delay between the publishing because of the rate limit.
I wanted the feeds on the same time axis so I created a group with the 3 feeds.
If i publish to this group does that count as 1 data point per minute or as 3?

Hi rnd_waaj,

If you were publishing to the group, containing three feeds, every minute - you'd be publishing 3 data points since you're publishing to three unique feeds (although they are in a group, batch publishing will publish to each feed within the group individually).

@brubell

Isn't this giving trouble?
Normally 1 feed update per 2 seconds is allowed(or 1 per second with IO+) and with this method i can update multiple feeds at once.

You're not updating multiple feeds at once, though. You're publishing to a group, which contains multiple feeds. Then, each feed within the group will be updated individually (not at once).

well the 3 feeds do get the same timestamp. I'm not experiencing any problem right now but i don't exactly understand how the rating goes, and as long i don't understand it i can't adapt my program to it.
