Using Adafruit IO for Monitoring Soil and Air Conditions Rem

by biod101 on Wed Jul 15, 2020 8:59 pm

Latest project thanks to Adafruit's hardware, code, and now Adafruit IO capabilities focused on creating a remote monitoring system for soil and air temperature and humidity:https://youtu.be/s84G1QhH2bI . Of interest, I've discovered that SHT10s are not the best for this kind of experiment, at least for monitoring subsurface humidity. As such, I will be updating this shortly with a couple of Stemmas more appropriate for this purpose of understanding how soil moisture dynamics are impacted by mulch.

We just had our first significant monsoon rainfall event. https://youtu.be/-HFBWkIQaMU

I'll share details on the mulch experiment once I've had a chance to crunch the associated numbers (captured on Adafruit IO)-- waiting for the soil to dry out.
