MQTT, Adafruit IO & You!

by akbykraz on Mon Sep 14, 2020 2:20 pm

Attempting to follow the tutorial ... Trying to set up the 2 initial feeds does not
work ... No column 2 the left of the Dashboard shows any options, as in the
tutorial ... Have tried connecting using Windows 10 (Firefox), Mac Catalina (Firefox
& Safari) ... Could not find any info on the Free IO service being terminated (found
the IO+ though) ... Where 2 next ??

OK ... never mind ... Tutorial pictures do not mimic the current installation of IO ... Had
to bounce between 2 sessions of Safari to follow the wording in the tutorial ...Managed
to stumble on getting the feeds established ... Now waiting on a Huzzah so I can complete
the tutorial & get on with my modified Trinket Alarm System build ...

@jwcooper ... sorry 4 not replying sooner ... Back in Sep I was getting started with this
microcontroller/circuitpython stuff after a 35 year hiatus from the coding ... This
panicdemic lockdown set off on this new journey ... In re the IO issue, that project has
languished on the back of the bench since the application I was planning on using it
4 is moot (club train layout moved 2 another location) ... Will probably re-visit the
project when the need arises again (have some ideas) ... i can't recall, att, which
tutorial I followed ... If i pick the project back up, I'll have to re-visit the ALS section
again to jog this Septuagenerian brain ... Lots of those cells need to B stirred once
in a while ...

Thanks for the help,
Skip
