NeoPixel Not Powering

by PhillyDrummer on Thu Oct 15, 2020 9:36 pm

We are connecting the NeoPixel RGB Neon-like LED Flex Strip as seen in the documentation and videos. The strip is not lighting up.

Is there an issue with this wiring or is our product defective?

Thank you,
David

What are you driving it with and what code are you using?

You don't need a level shifter if you are driving the NeoPixels with a 5v logic signal (which a classic Arduino (or copy) uses), only for 3.3v logic (which the Pi uses, hence needing a level shifter for it). Make sure all your grounds are connected together.

Looks like we might have a bad connection. We are running the code that should be cycling through the three colors. Only red lights up and it is very dim.

If the NeoPixel is defective, can you assist with a replacement?

Everything you've done should just work.

Please email support@adafruit.com with a link to this thread, your order number, and request the replacement of one NeoPixel RGB Neon-like LED Flex Strip.,
