24hour format in Adafruit IO

by thoru on Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:08 am

Starting to look at Adafruit IO, so new to all this.
I see only am/pm format everywhere on the webpage. is it possible to change it to 24 hour format instead?

@thoru,

Are you trying to adjust the time display on the adafruit.io website or on your client hardware? I see a few different ways to set it on the client side. One example is how we do it on the magtag.

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
USE_AMPM_TIME = True

A little more on time options here:

I'm viewing the timestamp in the website.
good to know about the client :) do you know how to also affect the website?

Does adding this to your adafruit.io URL convert the time to 24 hour?

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
/your-24-hour-page

Where on the website do you want to see 24hr time? Gauges/blocks?

As one that is accustomed to 24 hour format I would like to have that everywhere I see pm/am format :p so a option on the account to switch between the time-formats would be great. In Adafruit IO I see it on the timestamps of feeds. And in dashboard on every block timestamp (mouse over). line charts, stream a feed. and probably other places I haven't experimented with yet.

jupp. I completely understand that. but where I live we use 24 hour format. not the pm/am. so when I use software or whatever and there is not an option to switch I get frustrated. so able to switch would be great. so those who want pm/am can use that. small problems I know :)

I've filed a request for this feature. Please note that since this is not a bug, there is no ETA for when this will be implemented. This topic will be updated by a member of the Adafruit IO Team once it's implemented.
