FEEDBACK: Stream Block

by wb4dhc on Tue Dec 29, 2015 6:57 pm

Hello Adafruit folks,
Thanks for putting up an awesome system (IO) to test IoT types of things. Just what we need... Something straight forward and without all of the complexity that some of the others have built into their offerings. Certainly the complexity is needed when pushing many data points every second or 3 which may be what big Enterprises need. BUT when trying to understand the basics all of that is not needed and in fact gets in the way of getting a simple dashboard running with a couple of sensors.

As this is still in Beta here is a little item I noticed about the Stream Block. My temperature feeds are on the hour and half hour. The one at the top of the hour shows minutes as a single zero instead of 2. Example: 17:0:19. Functionally it causes no problem at all... Just looks a bit weird. Up to you if it needs to change or not.

Thanks again for being an awesome company that is quietly leading not only the hobby/STEM communities but also helping us in larger companies show that the words "low cost" and "cheap" are not the same thing.

Robert

Thank you for the kind feedback. The entire idea behind IO is to make it simple to use with the devices you already own or plan to own. We have a ways to go yet, but the beta should be fun to tinker with at the very least.

It looks like someone has filed the stream block zero padding issue as well, so it's definitely on our radar now:

Thanks!
