Suggestion for a new Charting Lib

Post by clemens »

I have the impression that the used charting is not really good usable, I miss some basic features, e.g.
- a legend (!!)
- displaying the exact number value while hovering with the mouse over the graph
- easily zooming in and out

Perhaps you can have a look at http://dygraphs.com/ It is super convenient, easy to use and a JS lib that runs on the browser so not a lot communication between server and browser is needed while interacting with the graph.

I don't know what you are using right now but also Grafana http://grafana.org/ has nice feature and better charting options than in the current Adafruit IO right now.

Is / will be Adafruit IO open source so in case the limitations are too strange for your project you can host it on your own?
