Virtual Toggle

How would I use a virtual Toggle to control an LED on my Arduino Ethernet shield?
I have this code so far from the included example:

However, the Arduino IDE says
comparison between distinct pointer types 'uint8_t* {aka unsigned char*}' and 'const char*' lacks a cast [-fpermissive]. I don't know how to read what the value is on a virtual toggle in adafruit.io.

This is exactly what I was attempting to do right now, but I didn't have any code, or idea, of where to start.
Where did you get the code you referenced?

Where did you get the code you referenced?
I used the MQTT library's example code, and found the part about the onoff feed. I then modified it to how I thought it would work (which didn't).
