Dead Feather M0 Basic Proto

Post by Gowrevenge »

Hi everyone,

About 10 days ago, I purchased a large order, containing: Adafruit Feather M0 Basic Proto and a Feather Huzzah and a bunch of feather accessories

I wrote a basic program using the Motor shield for the feather and went to compile it and it compiled and downloaded to the board(supposedly). Realized I needed to make a change so I plugged it back in right after flashing and unplugging it, and from there on, it wouldn't connect anymore. The reset button now does nothing regardless how many times it is pressed. When I initially plug it in, the yellow light flickers for a fraction of a second but that's it.

To confirm my programming or cable wasn't the issues, I decided to try out the feather huzzah, so I flashed it with the same code. It ended up working great. I also tried plugging the M0 into another computer to see if by chance the drivers on my computer were corrupt but it isn't recognized on any other computer as well.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

What voltage do you see on the Feather's 3v pin when it's connected to the computer?

I didn't think to check that. Its reading slightly under 50mv. The voltage regulator could be the issue?

Hmm

It means something is dead.. it could be the regulator, or something powered by the regulator that's shorted.

For the sake of completeness, could you post a photo showing the Feather and anything connected to it please? 800x600 images usually work best.

I have absolutely nothing connected to it now.

However, when I did, all I had prior was the feather motor shield attached to it with 1 dc motor. As stated earlier, the huzzah works great with the same configuration.

Attached is an image.

Thanks for taking the time to go over this!

I don't see anything out of the ordinary there. Do you still see low voltage on the 3v pin when you remove the Feather from the Tripler?

I do still see the same voltage on or off the tripler.

On the "yellow flashing led" front, here's another case of this but one that appears to have a different cause. An imperfect power supply seems to annoy the ATSAMD21E's POR:
